Black Girl Today is a comprehensive, virtual magazine tailored to creative millennials. Offering weekly articles that incorporate culture, career, education, entertainment, and lifestyle. Showcasing interviews with enterprising, young women making moves within their career fields, the site serves as an everyday essential and resource for the black woman of today. My purpose for creating the site is simply to speak to women like me, providing them with relatable, quality content.
As a black woman in my twenties from a small town with big city dreams, I often felt that there was void is content for girls like me. Having an undergraduate education from a predominantly white institute and currently a law student at an historically black college, I have experienced the pros and cons both worlds. I am black women striving for success by any means necessary, experiencing the day-to-day hurdles that we all have and dreaming of the ideal success story we all romanticize. I am a Black Girl Today. This site is more than just my story, it is ours.
Black Girl Today is the virtual embodiment of today’s black woman.
